Our Story

When I opened the very first Home From Home nursery in 2012, I did so not as a business owner, but as a mother.

At the time, I was working as a childminder in Molesey, and I could see how desperately families needed high-quality childcare that didn’t feel clinical or corporate - somewhere children would feel truly safe, known and loved. I wanted to create a space that felt like an extension of home. A place filled with warmth, togetherness and joy.

Home From Home began in a small pavilion hall, and from those early days, one thing has never changed: children’s emotional wellbeing comes first.

Over the years, we’ve grown - expanding to Woking, Walton-on-Thames and now New Haw - but our ethos remains the same. Each nursery is rooted in community. Each child is seen as an individual. Each family is welcomed as part of something bigger.

In 2023, we embraced the Danish concept of Hygge - a feeling of cosiness, light and togetherness. When you walk into one of our nurseries, I hope you feel that immediately. Calm spaces. Warm interactions. Meaningful conversations at little tables. The gentle hum of happy children deeply engaged in play.

To me, school readiness is not just about phonics or counting. It’s about confidence. It’s about resilience. It’s about children leaving us feeling confident and capable in the world.

I’m incredibly proud of the environments we’ve created and the tremendously dedicated teams who bring them to life every single day.

I look forward to welcoming you and your family to Home From Home.
