Free Early Education for 3 and 4 year olds

In England all three and four year olds are entitled to up to 15 hours of free childcare and early education a week for up to 38 weeks a year. This is to give children the opportunity to take part in planned learning activities, and help prepare them for school through the early learning goals set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is a universal offer and is available to all children regardless of their family circumstances.

Free Early Education for 3 and 4 year olds allows children to have up to 15 hours of free early years provision a week for 38 weeks a year or 11.17 for 51 weeks of the year. Children will be able to access free early education from the following terms:

1 September 2014 to 31 December 2014 January 2018 (Spring)
1 January 2015 to 31 March 2015 April 2018 (Summer)
1 April 2015 to 31 August 2015 September 2018 (Autumn)

It will continue until they either, start in reception class at a local authority maintained school or reach compulsory school age, which is the school term after their fifth birthday.

As a parent you do not need to apply to access this funding. You will be required to complete a registration form to enable us to offer your child a place. Each term you will be asked to sign a form to confirm that your child remains in the setting.

+ 15 Hours / Extended entitlement (30 hours childcare)

From September 2017 working families who meet the eligibility criteria are able to claim an additional 15 hours per week. We joined the scheme and welcome families with the additional funding into our setting. We offer three ways in which the offer can be claimed, this includes one completely free offer (terms and conditions apply). Please get in touch to discuss our extended entitlement options. More information regarding funding and eligibility are available at the Surrey County Council website.

You can also check your eligibility via the Childcare Choices website or by using the childcare calculator which will also show you if you are able to get any additional help towards childcare costs.
